Ok, this was a uni assignment that I had. The idea was that we had to make a promotional poster for a franchise that already exists, BUT! make something new out of it.
Obviously I chose the TMNT franchise.
As for the story I was inspired by a particular episode in the 2003 series entitled: Same as it Never Was, widely considered across the fandom as the episode that was ‘not ok’.
The basic plot is that the turtle Donatello awakens to find himself in a universe where their arch enemy ‘The Shredder’ has taken over and the brothers have failed to protect their city, their home and their family. Having discovered that his entire family has either died or been horribly mutilated Donatello vows to take down the Shredder once and for all with the help of his now jaded and broken brothers.
What I wanted to do was create a promotional image for a new TV series that shows the events leading up to this episode in this universe.

This was, without a doubt, the MOST SHOCKING AND UPSETTING of all episodes from the 2003 TMNT series. My jaw dropped the first time I saw it, and every time since, it still has the same effect on me.
