Has everyone seen the trailer for the new Sherlock Holmes movie with Robert Downey Jr as Holmes? If not and you are a huge fan of Holmes like I am you will be EXTREMELY disappointed and angry!! DX

It looks like a blockbuster formula rather than a Sherlock Holmes movie. In fact I'll tell you what it looks like. Pirates of Caribbean with Jack Sparrow as Holmes and Will as Watson!! DX not cool. Go look at the trailer and you’ll see. Holmes is soo out of character it isn’t even funny!

Disney did it better with Basil, the Great Mouse Detective!!!

I have to admit that Holmes has never been portrayed perfectly. But people have certainly come very close.

Anyway, I’m probably getting ahead of myself, it’s only a trailer...I mean it could be good...........DX

If you haven’t seen The Great Mouse Detective I recommend you go see it. Its very good and not always given the credit it disserves. Basil was always one of my favourite Disney men. This is the first time drawing him and I’ve never drawn or coloured a…animal/human thing (Anthropomorphic?)…But I think I did an ok job :)

I loved The Great Mouse Detective!

I've been wondering what it's been called because I remember the story line and the cover of it and everything, BUT the name :iconotlplz:


I haven't seen the trailer yet though :P

Wow, very nicely done.

And you are PERFECTLY RIGHT. BASIL was a MOUSE and he was lightyears closer to being Holmes than Downey Jr.'s Holmes, and I'm not even a big fan of GMD. D:< *Has friends that adore it though*

I mean, REALLY. Sex scenes with Irene Adler? Wrong date? Alcoholic Holmes? Scruffy/short/poorly-dressed/not-even-Victorian-dressed/non-gentleman Holmes?!?!?!?! And for heaven's sake, HOLMES DOES NOT USE NUNCHAKU. This guy is not Sherlock Holmes...Sticking a label that says "steak" on a banana does not make it steak. It's just a mislabeled banana. :P

I agree with you 100%!! Seriously! Since when was Holmes a womaniser! His head was always in the game and would never fall for obviouse traps. He was always miles ahead of every body elese.

Also he wasnt muscle bound and does not BOX WITH OUT HIS SHIRT! He is supposed to be extremely thin and over 6 feet!! Its supposed to surprise you that he is so strong!

In some degrees I totally agree with you and the best Watson was Ian Hart in my opinion I always saw him as that sort of character with that sort of face.

I TOTALLY AGREE!!! WATSON SEEMS MORE HOLMES-LIKE IN THE TRAILER!!!

and holmes is ocd. srsly. he has no hygiene problems. the only thing they got right is his insane random violin playing.

AND WHY DOES EVERYONE HAVE TO MAKE SOMETHING OUT OF NOTHING WITH IRENE ADLER??!!! he just respected her. they didn't have a fling or anything. :(

it'll be nice to see Jude Law on screen, though...but watson was plump. not sexy like Jude. :D

I KNOW! thats what I thought aswell!

I was like..Since when is he scruffy!!??!? He was messy but not unclean! There is a difference!!!

Like I said it is a blockbuster film...so there has to be a love interest..its just the way it goes...they did the same thing with Terminater 3 (though that turned out some what ok it wasnt like it was needed with the other two films being so awesome)

And actually if you read the first book it describes Watson as being very thin and only 2 years older than Holmes. Its only in the TV shows was he made out to be a bubbling old fat man. So Jude Law is an ok choice.
